France High Court: Monsanto Lying About Roundup Safety

Sat, Nov 21, 2009

General

Remember when the manufacturers of Roundup used to market the product as almost instantly biodegradable? They tried to tell us the Roundup would be virtually gone from the soil within a week.

Recently, the highest court in France found the manufacturer, Monsanto, guilty of lying: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8308903.stm. The fine was a paltry $22,000, which I’m sure the company took as a joke.

This makes you wonder why American courts continue to look the other way when pesticide manufacturers lie to us, time after time.
