I have put in a few hours myself in the last week, pulling weeds out, reseeding, and spreading compost and alfalfa meal. I forgot to save some compost for compost tea. Thanks again for your advice and help with my soil analysis. My husband and I are both going to read the manual so that we know how to get this grass looking good.

My small city has a hugely successful composting program and is RUNNING OUT of compost each year now, earlier and earlier. They started this back in the olden days when everyone used chemicals, and now local landscapers are buying compost from them and they can’t keep up with demand. I think I’m going to have to buy my own compost bin.

Thanks again. I took some “before” pictures, and am hoping very hard that I can take some nice “afters” next summer.

After you get your compost bin going make sure you get some composting worms. Set up some worm bins to finish off your compost faster and to assist you to recycle your junk mail, table scraps and newspapers. There are a large number of businesses setting them up in their offices. This allows companies to recycle and save. Every home and business should have them.
