Matching Grant!

As we work toward final funding of our movie, A Chemical Reaction, we received the pledge of a matching grant this past weekend from an attendee who watched the Maine premiere. To help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 by Nov. 1, the donor said she will match all individual donations until we reach a total of $10,000 from other sources. Today alone we received pledges of $800. The $20,000 will be used as ...

EPA Moves to Expose “Inert” Ingredients

In a move decades overdue, the Environmental Protection Agency is moving toward the unveiling of so-called "inert" ingredients in pesticides. Current laws require that manufacturers only reveal "active" ingredients on labels, such as glyphosate in Roundup or 2,4-D in selective weed killer. Often the active ingredient is only a small percentage of the overall product. For decades, manufacturers have been all ...

What we Can Learn from Canada and Connecticut

This is the text of an article I originally published in People, Places & Plants magazine in 2006. The message, contained within the movie, A Chemical Reaction, is still timely today.
