Before You Try to Kill Moss, Read This
My personal email was flooded this weekend with a historic number of natural lawn care questions. The queries were all over the map (or lawn, so to speak), but a disproportionate number came from people concerned about all the moss on their lawns.
If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you know I’m: a) not a big fan of getting rid of moss, which never needs to be mowed and b) moss, like other so-called weeds, is a messenger sent to us by Mother Nature to tell us something about our soil.
So before you rush out to peel away that moss and plant grass seed, plugs or sod, read this post: http://www.safelawns.org/blog/index.php/2010/05/you-want-to-eradicate-moss-really/
And, if you still want to kill the moss when you’re done reading, then this product from St. Gabriel Laboratories is organic: http://www.stgl.us/gstore/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=43&idproduct=3933
