Summer Job Opportunity with the Maine Board of Pesticides Control/Maine YardScaping Partnership – Please forward to anyone you know that may be interested.

The Maine Board of Pesticides Control/Maine YardScaping Partnership (see is looking for someone to fill a 40 hour/week summer position that can begin anytime and could last until the end of September. The position will be based in Portland and will serve as the on-site coordinator for the YardScaping Partnership’s Sustainable Landscaping Demonstration Project at the Back Cove (see Other duties may include water quality sampling and other special projects.

The position pays $12.12/hour.

Typical duties will include coordinating volunteers, weeding, watering, mulching and pruning the over 1400 trees, shrubs and perennials on the site and may include taking water or sediment samples at other Southern Maine (Cumberland County) locations.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have gardening or horticulture experience.
