A Sample Letter:

Taking our advice from Friday, a pair of SafeLawns members from Wisconsin wrote this letter to Major League Baseball vice president Tim Brosnan:

Dear Mr. Brosnan,

We are writing to express our displeasure with MLB’s deal with Scott’s for lawncare.

This company is not environmentally responsible, and their products are not safe for use on lawns or MLB fields. There have been too many MLB personnel who have had prostate cancer and other health problems to ignore the effects of toxic lawn care products on human health.

We are baseball fans, and Chicago Cubs fans. We spend a lot of money each year supporting our team and following baseball. We subscribe to MLB Extra Innings, and we subscribe to Sirius XM radio to follow Cubs games when we’re traveling. When we hear MLB/Scotts advertising, it makes us sick.

Please reconsider getting into bed with such an environmentally irresponsible company. MLB has done some good things recently regarding green ballparks, but calling Scotts a green company is an insult to the truly green companies that care about the environment and human and animal health.

Thank you,
