Calgary Students Stage Pesticide Protest

After months of debate, the city council in Calgary, Alberta voted 8-7 against banning pesticides, making that western city one of the last major metropolitan areas in Canada without some sort of pesticide prohibition.

We have been contacted and will likely bring our movie there in the spring. In the meantime, a group of Calgary students staged a protest yesterday that caught the attention of the local news: http://calgary.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20091116/CGY_Pesticide_Protest_091116/20091116/?hub=CalgaryHome.

Isn’t it great to see the younger generation take up this cause!
